The news does a good job of telling us what is going wrong. It does a poor job of telling us what is going right, even when the evidence is strong. Optimism Report exists to correct that imbalance, without slipping into wishful thinking.
We cover measurable progress across nature, health, science, climate, society and technology. For every story, we find the primary source, check the numbers, explain how we know, and say plainly what is not yet solved. We are a fact-checker that happens to bring good news, not a good-news account that happens to cite sources.
How we work
Machines help us find and sort promising stories and gather the evidence. A human makes every editorial judgement, checks every claim against the original study or dataset, and approves every published word. Nothing is published on trust alone.
